Wedding photography at The Manor House Hotel is always a pleasure. When Wendy and Phil chose the right time to get married there - in June - as the weather was perfect for them. They wanted me to record the day from their arrival and getting ready until just after their evening guests arrived. This still gave plenty of opportunity to get some lovely shots of everyone enjoying the perfect day as it unfolded.
Phil, with his best man, although putting on a brave face, looks less relaxed than his bride to be!
Wendy, with her father, takes the small walk from Apple Cottage, a delightful self contained cottage within the grounds, over to their guests - and waiting groom!
Phil, together with their small party of family and friends wait for Wendy's arrival
Phil decided not to turn around whilst Wendy made her way to the registrar. With an expression of nervous anticipation, he still looks tense.
It is as though he is worried that she might not turn up after all.
Clearly he had nothing to worry about!
It was a perfect day as the sun shone on the lovely garden for Wendy and Phil's wedding at The Manor House Hotel, Moreton in Marsh
A younger guest helped to take an all important shot of the bride and groom.
There is relief on both their faces as the realisation sinks in that 'they've done it!' - They are actually married. Now the party can begin!
That expression says it all - he's the cat that got the cream!
Wendy seems happy enough too!
A chance for a welcome break in the day
Although most of my images are taken in a reportage style without any direction. I like to take 15 minutes out of the day to be alone with the bride and groom. This gives them the chance to get their breath back after the ceremony and me a chance to get some simple portraits of them together.
Mostly, this is very informal - we simply go for a walk and see what happens. Some of the best relaxed and candid images are obtained this way. The gardens at The Manor House Hotel are perfect for this.
I love the ivy arch and it makes a fabulous frame for a more posed but still informal and relaxed shot.
Wendy and Phil's Wedding photography at The Manor House Hotel, Moreton-in-Marsh - continued as their evening guests arrived
This young guest took the opportunity to slip into her mother's shoes.
She also loved her present that Wendy and Phil had provided for all the young ones present.
The beautiful day began to turn into a beautiful evening and, after the main guests had finished their wedding breakfast , Wendy and phil's evening guests began to arrive.
Phil had asked me to process a selection of images during the day so that he could show them as part of a slide show to the gathered guests, including the evening ones - so that they could see part of the earlier celebrations and ceremony itself.
The presentation went down very well, and knowing this, my work for the day was completed and I left everyone to enjoy their evening.
