Black and white wedding Photography adds a great mood and atmosphere to your images
Wedding photography in a photojournalistic style perfectly suited Inez and Martin's beautiful, simple ceremony at their local country church in Gloucestershire - and processed simply, in Black and white, enables it to show all the joy and emotion of the day.
Just across the road from where Inez and Martin live is an absolutely classically beautiful Cotswolds stone church, in the little village of Wormington. They wanted a very small and intimate ceremony and the location was ideal. The June sunshine provided the perfect weather for their big day. The rich tones of the day translate so well into black and white.
I was able to get to know everyone at Inez' house before the ceremony, then when the time came, the family group went over to the church leaving Inez, her father, Brian and maid of Honour, Ami, to get ready to go to a wedding!
A Photojournalistic approach to Wedding Photography
My style of wedding photography is to simply observe what happens and record it in the best light. The naturalness of Inez and martin's wedding arrangements fell beautifully into this style. My relaxed method allows everyone to not worry about what I am doing and concentrate on the day so that I quickly blend into the background. If I am acknowledged by someone in the photograph, it is more as a friend rather than stranger and the natural smiles show this.
A relaxed and excited Inez passes under the church gate arch that was decorated with a bunch of flowers from Rose and Grace Florists.
Here, Black and white photography shows how the different tones from dark to light show so well as Inez waits outside the church door and their vicar stands inside.
A more serious look from Inez. Of course, the moment has arrived!
Mums and dads, grannies and best friends
This is one of my favourite images of the day. It was not posed and I was able to capture the moment simply by being in the right place at the right time - and being ready with my camera - the secret of good reportage wedding photography! A true celebratory image - Cheers!
Milo, just had to be in this image ( it was amazing how he just ran up to Inez and posed so beautifully ) so they got both their other loves-in-life all in one photograph - and didn't it look good in black and white wedding photography?
