Lygon Arms wedding photography

The wedding of Head Chef, Ales and Sous-chef, Joanne

For their Lygon Arms wedding photography and flowers, head chef Ales and his fianc√©, sous- chef Joanne, chose Rose and Grace. I was privileged to do their photographs and Catherine created their floral arrangements. They were married in May, a beautiful time of year when the flowers and nature have had time to fully recover from winter's hold. In particular,  There was only one venue that they could consider and true enough, Ales and Joanne naturally chose The Lygon Arms  for their venue  with its spectacular old wisteria in full, fragrant bloom.

For the fathers, the day started off at a local Broadway pub. Ales father is Slovenian and, although his first language is not English, there seemed no problem in getting on with Joanne's father! (They spoke the universal language of beer!)

Ales appeared very relaxed as he and his father strolled across the beautiful Broadway green, over to the Lygon Arms. Ales is carrying the buttonholes created by Catherine.

Joanne had more to think about as she and her bridesmaids prepared for the day ahead

Joanne and Ales' cute little daughter, Adela, was determined to get in on the act as we took some photographs for their album.

Spot the difference!

If the camera is out - so is Adela!

Like most children at weddings, Adela helped to relax everyone and lighten the atmosphere - and try to get into every shot!

Joanne looked beautiful in her wedding gown, pausing momentarily by a fabulous old oak door, upstairs in The Lygon Armes.

The Lygon Arms have a lovely light and airy  room for their civil services. This is the point of no return for Ales and Joanne!

Ales entertained their guests with his jokey banter with the registrar, during the early part of the ceremony,   but it all ended in a traditional kiss.

Happy and relaxed, now that the ceremony was over, Ales and Joanne went for a brief stroll in the Lygon Arms garden and took the opportunity for some lovely, simple shots of then together for the first time as man and wife.

It must be most unusual to be married at the place where you both work - but it proved to be a very laid-back and charming wedding, surrounded by family, friends and work colleagues.

For them, The Lygon Arms was the perfect place to be!
